County Rules You Should Know
Fairfax County Park Authority lists nine official off-leash dog areas plus Town of Vienna's. Fence reality check before you buy for dogs. In Burke Centre, Rolling Valley, and Springfield HOAs, you need ARB approval for fence type — black chain is often denied on front and side street sections in favor of open picket or split rail, which doesn't contain bigger dogs. Corner lots on Burke Lake Road or Old Keene Mill are four feet max on the street side with a sight triangle. Budget wise, our clients in 2026 have seen $6k to $12k for rear vinyl or HDPE for a townhome end unit, and $12k to $22k for a single-family quarter acre, depending on gates and grade. For two-dog homes with shepherd, malinois, or bully breeds, some insurers add riders in Virginia — ask before you close.
